About Blues Brothers
What started out as a 1978 comedy sketch on Saturday Night Live sure got out of hand real fast!! The brainchild of musician Howard Shore (now a world-renowned film composer) and comedy actors Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi, the Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood Blues, have had 40 years of Box Office, Radio and Chart success, taking songs and stylistically making them their own in ways we're sure the Ackroyd and co. could not have predicted!
John Belushi's untimely death further cemented the original film's cult status (a feature directed by John Landis of Thriller fame) and a host of singers stepped in to fill Belushi's shoes.
With songs such as Gimme Some Lovin, Everybody Needs Somebody and even instrumentals such as Henry Mancini's Peter Gunn becoming very much the cultural property of the Blues Brothers, expect an absolute thrill ride with our Jake and Elwood!
